ACEs Collaborative

History

In 2020 APSAC, in collaboration with Academy on Violence and Abuse (AVA), Center for Innovation and Resources, Inc (CIR), and CAPSAC was awarded a $200,000 grant from the office of the California Surgeon General (CA-OSG) and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to participate in California’s Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Aware initiative. The Collaborators formed the CALIFORNIA ACES ACADEMY to promote the ACEs Aware initiatives among Medi-Cal providers in 6 California regions. When the grant expired, the collaborative kept going, added new members, to include Zero Abuse Project, Sacred Spaces, Esperanza United, the NY Foundling, and AAP CA-1, and is now known as ACES Health Champions Network (AHCN).

ACEs Health Champions Network (AHCN)

AHCN is a system of interconnected non-profit organizations that seek to address the health effects of violence and abuse throughout the life course. AHCN’s purpose is to “educate, inspire and connect” as we build a community of health-focused individuals, organizations and others. AHCN has convened monthly Gatherings since Sept 2021. Each gathering is one-hour live webinar with a short 20-min presentation by a topic expert, followed by a discussion and sharing of emerging knowledge.

AHCN Gatherings

AHCN Gatherings are open to all professionals, free, and held monthly. Visit AVA Health for upcoming and previously recorded Gatherings.
